Alizé Pepper is a French writer and artist who uses words, paintings, drawings or collages to present her creative ideas in their entirety. She pushes the boundaries and confinements of each medium by combining them, creating connections and echoes through different layers of understanding. Alizé was always fascinated by pens, paper and colours in general: rainbows, crayons in a box, fabric samples... Inspiration is not something you stumble across - it’s a way of seeing things, being affected by them and wanting to share them with others. Alizé believes that the duty of the artist is to annihilate all traces of shame.
“Fearless,” the Alizé Pepper’s collection for Each x Other is an ethereal combination of 2D painting and 3D form. The garment linings and several shirt fronts feature portraits of angels, showing the inspiration of classical art on more contemporary forms. Traditional embroidery gives a textural edge to the garments’ fabric, akin to the building up of paint on a canvas. Splashes of color: blues, oranges and reds, mimic the idea of clothing as a space for creative self expression.
