Alessandra D’urso uses photography to explore and understand the world that surrounds us. Her unique vision puts the world in black and white, where she is free to focus on light, shadow and texture. By eliminating color, her works reveal the subject’s true substance. Her imagery evokes a sense of wonder, triggering an impulse in the viewer to go further and to look deeper. Alessandra studied photography at the international Centre of photography and film at the New York Film Academy. Upon her graduation she moved to Paris and worked for magnum agency as an intern. She spent the following years producing stories about social issues for different magazines, projects and exhibitions. After ten years “on the road”, capturing the charisma of musicians such as Iggy Pop, Jack White and Jay-Z, she is back in Paris working on her personal projects. Her work has appeared in Vogue Paris, Vanity Fair, Purple Magazine, L'Officiel Paris, L'Officiel Italia, L'Officiel Art, Marie-Claire, Nowness, Purple Diary, D della Republic.
